Qascom is looking for an Authentication System Engineer to join our team in ESTEC, Noordwijk (NL), to contribute to engineering activities for the Galileo Satellite Navigation System, in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA).
As part of the Galileo Second Generation project, the candidate will be involved in defining the OS-A (Open Service Authentication) service concept and its realization, ensuring alignment between system requirements and architecture. The candidate will support the implementation of system segments and follow up on related procurements, including components such as the System Testbed, the Ground and Mission Centers. The work will also include managing data interfaces and modelling system behavior and data flows to ensure robust and secure performance.

- OS-A service concept (CONOPS) and its future evolutions, including key management concepts.
- OS-A system implementation (alignment amongst system requirements documents and architecture documents).
- OS-A segment implementation (system flow-down to segments, and follow-up with the associated procurements, e.g. the STB, GCS, and GMS).
- Interface management for the OS-A data-flows.
- OS-A dataflow and system behaviour modelling.
- Maintaining requirement traceability and design updates (DCNs) using DOORS.
- Contributing to system, requirements, and interface engineering activities.
- Participate in design and system-level reviews.
- Development of GNSS signal processing algorithms and tools.
- Prepare and present technical documentation to ESA, EUSPA, and industry stakeholders.
What do you need
- Master’s degree in Telecommunication, Electronics or Aerospace Engineering.
- 3/5+ years of experience in system engineering (requirements, design, validation, ECSS standards).
- Expertise in requirements engineering (Elicitation, Specification, Validation & Verification, Supervision & Traceability, Design Change Notices…).
- Experience with ground and/or space segment systems.
- Eligibility for National Security Clearance.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
Desired Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of interface engineering processes.
- Knowledge of GNSS signal processing, services and standards (e.g., GALILEO/GPS ICD).
- Prior contributions to ESA or European Commission projects will be a plus, is considerate a plus.
- Involvement in Authentication activities and/or GNSS Authentication, is a plus.
- Understanding of cryptography and its practical applications will be a plus.
- Knowledge of software security principles and standards;
- Knowledge of security risk assessment;
- Strong logical and analytical skills;
- Precision and attention to detail;
- Teamworking.
