Security Assurance Engineer
Qascom is looking for a Security Assurance Engineer within the Space and Defence domain, to join the Security Engineering team in Qascom headqarter based in Cassola, Vicenza (Italy) or Rome.
The role involves conducting security accreditation and certification activities for space missions, performing security risk assessments, and defining security guidelines.
The candidate will carry out security assurance engineering activities in support to ESA Security Office (ESO).
We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong desire to grow professionally and contribute innovative expertise. The successful candidate will support the development of security framework and conduct risk assessments, spanning from system security design to operational space missions.
As part of the Security Engineering team you will:
- Develop and maintain Security Guidelines;
- Perform continuous monitoring and summarization of emerging cybersecurity standards and regulatory frameworks;
- Prepare periodic threat intelligence reports;
- Define system security requirements and design of ESA space missions;
- Perform security risk assessment, certification and accreditation activities.
Desired qualification and professional experiences:
- Degree in Security or Cybersecurity. Master’s or PhD degree is a plus;
- Alternatively, a degree in one of the following fields: Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Mathematics, Computer Science / Information Technology, or Aerospace Engineering;
- Working experience in the security / cybersecurity field and experience of activities in the domain of security for space / aerospace or IT security assurance in other domain (e.g. banks, critical infrastructures);
- Familiarity with the European Space Agency / Defence / security / cybersecurity programs is desired;
- Experience of activities in the domain of space system engineering is desired;
Desired knowledge and skills are:
- Cybersecurity principles, methodologies, technologies and frameworks;
- Cybersecurity concepts and their application in complex systems;
- Knowledge of security certification and accreditation processes;
- Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
