Senior Security Engineer

Cassola, Vicenza, Italy  |  OPEN POSITION

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and validatingsecurity architectures and technologies for satellite navigation, space systems, and governmental services.

You will work within Qascom’s Security Engineering Team, contributing to cutting-edge European programs and high-assurance environments.
Your work will include cybersecurity engineering, cryptographic system design, secure software/system development, and security risk assessment across advanced aerospace technologies.

What you’ll work on

  • Design and implement security architectures, security protocols, and cryptographic mechanisms for space and GNSS systems.
  • Perform risk assessments, security analysis, and threat modelling for mission‑critical systems.
  • Lead security engineering initiatives across infrastructure, applications, and embedded systems.
  • Provide technical expertise on network, platform, and application security, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Develop and maintain security software, including multi‑threaded and distributed systems.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams (software, RF, GNSS, embedded) to integrate secure design principles into all phases of development.

What do you need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/ Cybersecurity / Computer Engineering. A Master degree is desired.
  • Professional experience in design & devel of multi-threading software systems.
  • Knowledge of applied cryptography (even if academic).
  • Knowledge of secure software development, threat modelling, secure coding.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Windows security.
  • Knowledge of  system, network and cloud security.
  • Experience with Rust or C++.
  • Knowledge of Security protocols (IAM, authentication/authorization) is desired.
  • Proficency in English (written and spoken).

The technical interview focuses on:

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Engineering mindset and methodological rigor

We assess both current competencies and long-term growth potential.

For specific roles, an additional technical session may be scheduled to explore advanced topics or domain-specific competencies.


5. Offer Stage

Successful candidates receive a formal offer presentation, including contractual details and onboarding roadmap.

All candidates who have completed a technical interview will receive feedback as soon as the position is closed.
