We’re excited to announce that Qascom’s presentation, “Starlink-based Positioning using Qascom SDR Receiver: Design and Demonstration,” was awarded Best Speech in the Future Trends in Navigation session at the ENC 2025 conference.
The presentation introduced a novel Starlink receiver design, developed on Qascom’s Software-Defined Radio (SDR) platform. This innovative solution is adapted to extract observables from Starlink signals using GNSS-like techniques, opening new possibilities for alternative and resilient positioning.
Key contributions included enhancing receiver robustness by utilizing Starlink signals as a complementary source of positioning, enabling navigation even in GNSS-challenged environments. The team also demonstrated Doppler tracking performance using publicly available TLEs, which allowed for accurate satellite identification and confirmed the compatibility of the system’s architecture.
