Qascom at the Veneto Space Meetings 2025: Leading the Conversation on Satellite Navigation and Cybersecurity for Space

Qascom proudly participated in the 2025 Veneto Space Meetings, a key event showcasing innovation in the space industry across our region and beyond.

As part of our continued commitment to advancing European space capabilities, Qascom had the privilege to organize and chair two high-level sessions, bringing together institutional, academic, and industry leaders to explore the most pressing topics in today’s space domain.

The first session, Satellite Navigation: Space, Moon and Future, presented the latest advancements and future plans in satellite navigation, with a particular focus on lunar missions and Qascom’s contributions to their development. The session was chaired by Dr. Oscar Pozzobon, Founder and Administrator of Qascom. Esteemed speakers included Marco Florissi from the Office of the Military Advisor at the Presidency of the Italian Council of Ministers, Giancarlo Varacalli, Head of the Telecommunications and Navigation Office at ASI, Francesco Gini, PhD, Navigation Engineer at ESA ESOC, Fabio Cannone, VP of Ground Segment and Systems Engineering at the Line of Business for Satellite Systems and Operations, Quirino Morante, Moonlight E2E Navigation Program Manager at Thales Alenia Space, and Samuele Fantinato, Head of Navigation Technologies at Qascom.

The second session, Cybersecurity for Space, examined the protection of space assets, including an in-depth analysis of the supply chain, current threat landscape, the state of satellite communication security, and emerging aspects of signal intelligence. The session was chaired by Alessandro Pozzobon, Co-Founder and Administrator of Qascom. The distinguished speakers were Lt. Gen. (Air Force – R) Jean-Marc Laurent, CEO of AERIS and Chair at Sciences Po Bordeaux Defense and Aerospace, Miriam Petrone, representative for MoD, NATO, and EU Defense Initiatives at Thales Alenia Space, Professor Mauro Conti, Head of the Cybersecurity Program at the University of Padua, Dr. Giovanni Gamba, Head of Signal Intelligence at Qascom, and Giovanni Martucci di Scarfizzi, Business Development and Sales Director at Starion Group.
