Qascom Presents NAVCOM Experiment at VIII Space Resources Conference in Kraków

News, Projects

Last week, Qascom had the honor of presenting the NAVCOM experiment at the VIII Space Resources Conference: Path to Lunar Sustainability, held in Kraków.

NAVCOM was successfully operated onboard the International Space Station, where, with the support of ISS crew members, it demonstrated that positioning and timing can be achieved by receiving navigation signals from Earth, without relying on GNSS.

This pioneering project paves the way for resilient PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) solutions in GNSS-free environments. It also aligns with the long-term vision of future infrastructure initiatives such as ESA’s Moonlight program, while sharing strong technical synergies with earlier efforts like LuGRE.

We extend our sincere thanks to NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, Altec S.p.A., and ARISS – Amateur Radio on the International Space Station for their invaluable support in making this mission a success.
